EvenTech Scotland Reports Successful Second Show

EvenTech Scotland (25-26th February 2009, SECC, Glasgow), the two-day regional business networking forum, got off to a brisk start when it opened the doors for just the second time and this time to its new and larger-capacity home, Glasgow's SECC.
Evidence of the slow economy had little effect on footfall with the show recording an 18% increase on visitor numbers compared to the previous year. Yet again, the core strengths of the show - networking opportunities, education brought to the regional doorstep, professional organisation as standard, and a high calibre of decision-making visitors new to your business - were very apparent and exhibitors reported a successful show.
Sennheiser's Jay Cresswell commented: "We had a lot of new products on the stand which, as it had only been launched in December, had not been seen before. As such, the K Array attracted a lot of interest. We've dealt with a lot of visitors over the two days and much of it is new business."
Henk de Groot, Intelligent Lectern Systems bv, agreed: "We have seen some very good quality visitors here - most of the academic institutions have been represented here at decision maker level and are very interested in what we have to offer, so we're very happy with the show."
Impact products lived up to its name: the stand with its red powder-coated truss was lively throughout the show. "It's the first time we've exhibited in Scotland and we've had a fantastic response across the two days.
"The LED fixtures have been the main focus along with our own brand Brooke speakers. We've taken a significant amount of orders at the show, including a few from new customers, so we're over the moon," said MD Keith Williams.
Ken Dyer of Rubber Box Co Ltd, cautiously pointed out: "It's always difficult to say whether you've had a good show, that will show itself in time, but the organisation behind it has been excellent and the show has been produced very professionally.
Ward Steedsy Associates Ltd dovetailed product linked in with a seminar session and enjoyed the results, David Stevenson commented: "We've made a few new contacts - the networking opportunity here is just great and we're meeting decision makers and people who really know what they want. We've put Funktion One loudspeakers on the stand this year and they're proving a real pull, particularly following the seminar given by Tony [Andrews]. It's the first time he's been up to Scotland for many years and people are eager to speak to him and hear the quality of his loudspeaker design."
Show organiser, Scattered Media's Darren Brechin, commented: "evenTech Scotland 2009 was 50% bigger than 2008's inaugural show and visitor figures also showed growth. Most importantly, exhibitors reported success and that their objectives were met and that is our first priority, so we're very pleased, particularly when it is considered against the backdrop of this difficult economic climate for business."
evenTech Scotland 2010 is scheduled for 17th-18th February 2010, and will once again be held at the SECC in Glasgow. For more information please visit www.eventech-scotland.com
