Sennheiser Hits at The Brits

For the seventh year running Sennheiser microphones, in-ear monitoring and personnel were at the heart of the Brit Awards in London.
Having been invited to support the event by The Brit Awards' sound designer, Derrick Zieba, and sound company Britannia Row, presenters, performers and award-winners all chose Sennheiser as they entertained the sell out crowd at the Earls Court Arena and an audience of millions on ITV.
To introduce the event host, Kylie Minogue - ably supported by ‘Gavin and Stacey' stars James Corden and Mathew Horne - used SKM 5200 microphones with Neumann KK 105 heads and the same combination was used for all guest presenters.
The stage was now set for a glittering array of British and international Sennhieser-wielding talent. For their live vocal performances, Take That chose chromed SKM 5200 with KK 105 heads, the Ting Tings choosing e 935 wired mics. These were followed by show stopping performances from Best International Artist and Best International Album winners, Kings of Leone, putting their e 945 wired mics through their paces, and Girls Aloud who favoured customised SKM 935 radio mics.
As far as in-ear monitoring was concerned, the Brits was a Sennheiser only affair. Notably, all IEM's used by all performers on the show were Sennheiser - G2 300 series.
Rabbit, Kings of Leone's monitor engineer, was delighted to see Sennheiser on site for another year supporting the event with both equipment and technical know how: "I have known the Sennheiser guys for a long time. As a result, Kings of Leon have been working closely with them over the past nine months or so.
"It's always good to turn up and find Sennheiser on site supporting a big event like the Brits, as well as all the Front of House, Monitor engineers and artists they support."
