The Ting Tings Go Bandit
The super hot, super sexy techno rock group The Ting Tings is made up of Katie White and Jules de Martino. The two met at Leeds University in the UK and immediately knew they would be a band. Together since 2004, there first smash single, ‘That's Not My Name', entered the UK charts at number 1. The album that contained the hit, ‘We Started Nothing', also charted at number 1. The Ting Tings have been nothing short of a sensation since they hit the stage running.
Tour manger Brett Spence and lighting director Jvan Morandi called client rep Mick Freer at Bandit Lites in the U.K. and began a relationship between the two entities. The band plays a variety of venues and has a dynamic and flexible lighting system to meet their many needs. The kit includes MAC 300's, MAC 2000 spots, MAC 2000 washes, PC Beams and Thomas PixiLines. A Chamsys console controls the entire affair. Jvan's fresh, ultra modern lighting design complements the Ting Tings and adds that final sparkle to an incredible show. The energy at a Ting Tings show has to be witnessed to be believed. The band is currently in Europe with trips to the US, Asia and then back to Europe on the books for 2009. They will be out on tour all year.
Freer says: "We are tickled to death to have the opportunity to work with such a great young act that will no doubt conquer the world in a very short time. They have already been on several US television shows with their music and we know that 2009 is the Year of the Ting Tings."
