ChainMaster Success at ProLight+Sound

With an increase in the number of visitors and a very good atmosphere, this year's ProLight+Sound saw the event pulling clear of the rival show in London in terms of efficiency and internationalism. This was the view of Frank Hartung of ChainMaster, the Eilenburg-based manufacturer, who was gratified by the very positive response to the company's presentation at the Frankfurt trade fair.
"There was little sign at Prolight+Sound of the crisis we're always being told about," he commented. "Sure, it was mentioned, but the discussion soon turned to the order of business for the day."
This included the ChainMaster products making their first appearance at the show. On display was an addition to the range of BGV-D8 plus rigging lifts. ChainMaster has developed a new model with a load-bearing capacity of 250kg that moves loads at a speed of 4 m/min. The exact chain length can be custom-specified, though the company offers all-in packages for the standard lengths of 18 and 24 metres. The unloaded weight of the device, without the chain, is around 22 kg.
The touch-panel control system BGV-C1 pro for manual controllers with group shutdown can now be offered by ChainMaster with an expanded range of functions. The touch panel is equipped with a Start button and an Emergency Off button, is activated by a key switch, and permits programmable target runs. The position measurement system involves supervision of the direction of rotation. The load measurement system is armed with a shutdown function. A target-position/actual-position display along with an individual display of all the errors and operating states of the connected hoists optimizes the possibilities of the device, which is capable of controlling up to 48 drives.
A real eye-catcher on the ChainMaster booth was the larger-than-life model of a chain hoist, used to demonstrate the VarioTrolley system and its application possibilities.
