GLP Celebrates 15th Jubilee at the Prolight + Sound

GLP was represented at this year's Prolight + Sound with a 240-square-metre booth at which it presented its entire product portfolio including two newcomers to the range: the Volkslicht, a small LED moving head, and the concept study impression Meisterstück. The Karlsbad company was also celebrating the 15th anniversary of its founding, which it did in style in the company of EVI Audio and the Musikmesse in the AGORA marquee.
In the Volkslicht, GLP has developed a small LED moving head armed with 60 Luxeon Rebel LEDs. The power consumption of the device is a mere 180 watts. The basic colours used are identical to those of the impression 90 and the impression XL, which makes it possible to combine the devices freely without any problems. The price of the Volkslicht is markedly lower than that of the impression. At the Prolight + Sound alone, 1,500 orders were placed for the device.
The second new product being presented by GLP was the concept study impression Meisterstück (it means "masterpiece"). The device is the first LED moving head washlight in the world with a Fresnel lens. For the concept device, the GLP engineers used four RGBW modules with the colour-mixing taking place directly inside the chip, in this way ensuring that no disturbing colour shadows appear during the projection. As usual with the impression series, all the electronics of the Meisterstück are integrated into the arm. Other features of the device include the integration of an iris, which permits the user to project either a square or a round beam, and a zoom function (7°-28°).
