GLP Restructures in the UK

GLP Light Production announced at this year's Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt the setting up of a dedicated UK office. This is designed to give further momentum to the company's highly successful impression LED wash products and newly-launched Meisterstück, 650W LED (RGBW) - the world's first LED moving head Fresnel - designed for the TV and Theatre markets.
As a result, the company has appointed sales coordination manager Stuart Fenwick, formerly with Martin Professional, Robe and Lighting Effects Distribution, to head up the new operation, which is based at the headquarters of TV lighting supply specialists, Richard Martin Lighting (RML) in north west London.
GLP's business director Kasper Gissel confirmed that the move was effective immediately. "By offering full training and demo facilities within an established company, we aim to consolidate the enormous success we are enjoying in the television and concert touring markets," he said. At the same time he confirmed that AC Lighting and TMB Associates will remain as the company's exclusive UK distributors.
The move follows hot on the heels of Mark Ravenhill's appointment as director of key global players, and leaves GLP perfectly poised to exploit the new opportunities offered by the impression XL and Mini (the latter launched at Prolight + Sound as the ‘Volkslicht') - as well as Meisterstück.
Said Stuart Fenwick: "This represents an exciting challenge for me. While the market has unreservedly embraced the impression range we are also hugely optimistic about Meisterstück, which has been designed specifically for the television and theatre markets."
The address of the new operation is GLP, Unit 24, Sovereign Park, Coronation Road, Park Royal, London NW10 7QP. Tel: +44 7545 310 611.
