A.C. Entertainment Technologies Gets All Geared Up for Trussing & Rigging Training Days

A.C. Rigging, a division of A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd., is hosting a trussing and rigging training school in conjunction with leading Italian truss manufacturer, Litec, at their Leeds premises on 7 - 8 July. Eric Porter, experienced independent rigger, trainer, adviser and committee member for the PLASA National Rigging Certificate, is leading the training school alongside engineers from Litec and staff from the A.C. Rigging division.

The comprehensive two-day training programme is adopting an established Litec course that has been attended by industry people from all over Europe. Content is aimed at engineers, product managers and professionals wanting to acquire specific know-how and expertise to use in their day-to-day roles. It is equally suitable for people in other industry roles who wish to understand this sector in more depth.

Topics covered include:

  • Regulations and Risk Assessment
  • Standards and Guidance
  • PPE Systems for Working at Height
  • Ropes and Knots
  • Inspection and Records
  • Lifting Principles - basic science, angled loads
  • Truss Assembly and Slinging / Floating
  • Bridle Work (Theory and Practical)
  • Bridle Analysis (Load Calculations)
  • Examples of Common Bad Practice
  • Rescue Plans
  • Chain Hoists, Rigging & Derigging

Content of the training may provide some of the skills and knowledge required for the PLASA National Rigging Certificate (NRC). Participants will receive a training booklet, relevant technical documentation and certification of attendance at the end of the course.
