The Association of British Theatre Technician's ABTT Theatre Show is in its 31st year. Opening its doors to another ‘full house' of over 100 exhibitors, the show's new on-line pre-registration system has revealed that figures have held their position and are slightly up on last year.

Despite the difficult financial climate and a general trend for exhibitions to be affected by cuts in marketing budgets, the Show's success is attributed to its compact footprint, an un-intimidating atmosphere and an ever-expanding visitor base.

The Show's organisers have highlighted their on-going investment into online registration, additional marketing spend and its highly anticipated Widgets & Wine Evening for the The ABTT Awards on Wednesday 10th June in the Royal Horticultural Halls' Conference Centre from 6.30 pm. The ALD are joining the event to present two Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Over the years the show has witnessed some of the most ground- breaking innovations in technical theatre. And with a host of new exhibitors treading the boards of The Royal Horticultural Halls for the first time including Yamaha, Midas Prosound, Cadac, Schnick Schnack, L'Acoustics, Naotek, Terralec, SSE Audio, Red Square Audio, and Kotobuki Corporation this year is set to continue the tradition.

Avolites are to launch their new lightweight ART PowerCube dimmers.

With Ofcom due to publish its latest statement on the Digital Dividend during the summer wireless technology will be a major focus at the show. Manufacturers are concentrating on equipment that can cope with new and reduced spectrum bands, among them beyerdynamic with its Opus ranges, Trantec's SD7000 system and the new AKG DMS 700 digital wireless microphone system premiered on the Sound Technology stand.

Roger Fox, Show Director, commented: "Exhibitions are so important in our seemingly faceless world of E-commerce, as they offer an opportunity to get face to face with customers. We're looking forward to another successful year, highlighting the true potential of theatre technology and its impact on the West End, in regional theatres, education and retail.
