amBX UK Ltd and TMB Sign Exclusive Distribution Agreement

TMB has announced their appointment as worldwide exclusive distributor for the amBIENT XC control system from amBX Ltd of Redhill, UK.  Launched at InfoComm 09, the amBIENT XC uses amBX proprietary patented technology to provide a full "sensory surround" entertainment experience. It pioneers completely new concepts in the control of lighting and effects, allowing the creation of unique immersive experiences in professional productions and architectural installations of all kinds.
The amBIENT XC can be pre-programmed or will respond in real-time to visual and/or aural stimuli, such as video or audio signals. Sophisticated control of interpretation and output parameters offers dynamic control of mood and atmosphere, providing an innovative, maintenance-free, cost-effective means of creating appealing immersive environments in spaces of all kinds. The amBIENT XC control system also provides a low-cost yet impressive upgrade solution for venues or productions currently only capable of limited lighting effects.
At the core of the technology lies the amBX spatial model which is a 27 point 3D virtual environment which can be scaled and configured to any real space to determine lighting effects. The use of amBX to control lighting through the amBIENT XC revolutionizes the way in which professional lighting installers use LED lighting, from large scale projects and installations to smaller bars, restaurants, and home theatres. Originally developed within Philips Research Labs in the UK, amBX technology allows scripted or automatic creation of real world effects using light, color, audio, and atmospherics and provides an entire new tool set, the use of which is limited only by the imagination.
"amBX is the most exciting, groundbreaking technology in LED control to appear in quite a while," says TMB architectural sales director Sarah Cox. "Any installation or show that uses media combined with RGB LEDs can benefit from this product: Nightclubs, lounges, hospitality suites, museums, theme parks, corporate boardrooms, live productions, you name it - the possibilities are unlimited. The response at InfoComm was phenomenal and we expect to create as great or larger sensation at PLASA and LDI this year."
"amBX is rapidly becoming a standard for the creation of immersive environments and effects in entertainment," adds Jo Cooke, chief marketing officer of amBX UK Ltd. "With the launch of the amBIENT XC we are able to put this technology into the hands of designers and installers providing them with a whole new creative palette with which to maximize the effects of LED lighting in any venue or space. TMB has a fantastic track record of successfully bringing innovative products to market and we are very pleased to be working with them to launch the amBIENT XC."
