Education to Play Key Role at evenTech Ireland 2009

Scattered Media, organiser of evenTech Ireland 2009, has announced that industry education will have a pivotal role in cementing the foundations of the annual networking forum as Ireland's must-attend industry event.

Following its successful debut at the historic Royal Dublin Society Halls in Dublin last year, the second staging of the professional entertainment and installation technology showcase is scheduled to return to the same venue from 17-18 November.

Darren Brechin of Scattered Media comments: "Since the successful launch of evenTech Ireland last November we have been canvassing opinions amongst the entire industry - from manufacturers, distributors, dealers, industry associations and the press right through to the end-user to determine how we can best improve and develop the exhibition to serve the needs of the Irish market place."

Brechin continues: "Our objective last year was to create a platform for decision-makers in Ireland to view the latest products and services available as well as network with their industry peers in a relaxed environment.  We feel that evenTech Ireland 2008 achieved this and we have now set ourselves the task of improving the event across all facets to deliver a truly unique ‘must-attend' annual forum. One topic that continually raised its head in our discussions with the industry was that of education and as a result of these discussions we have now put education at the top of our priority list for ensuring evenTech Ireland 2009 is as successful as it possibly can be in generating an all-encompassing industry event that covers all aspects of the entertainment and installation technology sectors."

Brechin goes on to explain why the evenTech Ireland 2009 education programme is to be created by the industry for the industry: "We have spent a lot of time since the first show in discussions with various leading industry associations trying to better understand the needs of the industry from buying patterns, health and safety issues through to how legislation is having an impact on the market place and we are delighted to have gained official support from the Institute of Sound and Communications Engineers, the Association of Irish Stage Technicians, the Production Services Association, the Association of Lighting Designers, the Irish Nightclub Industry Association the Network for Event Organisers in Ireland and the Centre for Excellence in Events. The backing of these key industry bodies allows us to create an education programme which we believe will serve the entire spectrum of the industries we operate in. What better way to educate people than getting the respective industry associations involved in the education programme and hosting sessions that are relevant, topical and independent."

Nick Anton of the Association of Irish Stage Technicians comments: "The AIST is delighted to support evenTech Ireland and views its educational forum as an ideal environment to communicate with our industry.  Our seminar will be entitled 'Future Focus' and will examine where we are regarding venue height restriction and access and the role of new technologies available.  We will also look at the myths and reality of energy efficiency from the technician's viewpoint."

Sarah Carroll of the Network for Event Organisers in Ireland and the Centre for Excellence in Events who will also be participating in the evenTech Ireland 2009 education programme comments on their association with the exhibition: "The Centre for Excellence in Events and NEO Ireland support evenTech Ireland 2009. As Ireland's only event designed to promote providers of all sorts of technology for all sorts of events, this is an essential visiting experience for our members and associates."

Exhibitors are also realising the potential of evenTech Ireland and are continuing to sign up in numbers. Some of the recent companies to confirm their presence on the show floor at evenTech Ireland 2009 include - Ard Soilse Productions, Artistic Licence, Butler Technologies, FOH Audio, GFD Communications, Light Source / S+H, L.S.S. Light Sound Service, Milestone Productions, Murt Whelan Sound, Sound Productions, Vario Lighting and Yamaha Commercial Audio.
