Positive Showtech 2009 for Chainmaster

"All in all, it was a positive event in the tradition of the last few years," concluded Frank Hartung of ChainMaster with regard to the Showtech 2009 fair in Berlin that ended a few days ago - recording a slight increase in the number of visitors, say the organisers. "Showtech has always had a special visitor structure," added Hartung. " It's predominantly employees and decision makers from the theatres and municipal halls that get their information from the event. It also has strong regional ties with Scandinavia, eastern Europe and the Balkans that give the event an international flavour."

For visitors to this year's Showtech, ChainMaster presented a cross section of its current product range. This included the BGV-C1 pro touch-panel control system for manual controllers, which offers group shutdown and was attracting attention here with its expanded function set. The device is equipped inter alia with Start and Emergency Off buttons, is launched using a key switch, and makes programmable target runs possible. The position measurement system includes supervision of the phase direction - a highly practical feature.

Another newcomer to the ChainMaster range is to be found among the BGV-D8 plus rigging lifts. It's a new model with a safe working load of 250 kg that moves loads at a speed of 4 metres per minute. Customers are able to specify the length of chain they require, though all-in prices are quoted for lengths of 18 and 24 metres. The unladen weight of the new lift (excluding the chain) is around 22 kg.
