Tannoy VQ LIVE Now Shipping in Europe

Following a successful launch at this year's Prolight+Sound show, Tannoy's VQ LIVE is now available on mainland Europe, with a French distribution deal announced and the very first VQ LIVE systems sold to rental companies in Germany and Austria.
Tannoy has appointed TC Electronic as exclusive distributors for VQ LIVE in France. Initially intended to be available only in the UK at launch, demand for the product following its unveiling at Frankfurt has been such that VQ LIVE will be available to the French rental and live sound market through TC Electronic. Tannoy and TC Electronic are of course both part of the TC Group.
Billed as a line array killer, VQ has already made an impact winning its first shoot-out against a six-element line array just before the Frankfurt Prolight+Sound show back in April, where both the client and an acoustic consultant clearly preferred the sound of the VQ. Not only did it sound better but it was also a winner due to its compact size and plug and play simplicity. Requiring no separate amp racks or DSP, very low power consumption, and far less warehouse and truck space than both conventional or line array systems, the VQ LIVE ticks all the right boxes whether you are a company owner or an engineer.
Companies will be able to make substantial savings when purchasing VQ LIVE and could certainly purchase a new system on the proceeds from selling old equipment alone - perhaps a more pertinent and critical factor in the current climate than it has been in the past. With a continuous SPL of 138db (144db max), industry-leading coverage and pattern control not to mention a remarkable amount of rear rejection and an innovative wheeled dolly system for simple transit and venue setup - VQ LIVE is in a class of its own say Tannoy.
One such company to see the benefits of VQ LIVE is up and coming Austrian rental outfit, CG-Technik. With a history of working with Tannoy's installation loudspeakers, they needed no convincing when VQ LIVE became available and took delivery of the very first European order last month. With a lot of work in the local community and sports events market, VQ LIVE gives them the perfect tools to expand their business, as company principle Clemens Grabmayr explained:
"We are very confident that the new Tannoy VQ LIVE will help us especially in outdoor events. Their extremely high efficiency and excellent voice projection will deliver us the extra punch and reach that we've needed."
Harald Steindl of MOCOM, Tannoy's Austrian Distributor, added: "Investing in a new speaker system is always a big step for a rental company so it is quite normal for a customer to be skeptical when sales people talk-up new products. However, when I saw their faces fading into a broad smile after I turned on the system, we all knew that VQ LIVE is the right way to go for them. We wish CG-Technik a successful summer season with their new Tannoys!"
Meanwhile, VQ LIVE has clocked up its first sale in Germany with a 4-top, 8-subwoofer system having been sold to Geseke based events hire company Show Base. Experts in the live music, major show and dance event markets, Show Base have bought this 4 stack VQ LIVE system with a view to expanding further later in the year to replace their existing sound reinforcement systems.
