Vineta Pageants in Zinnowitz with K.M.E. Line Array System PANO
A summer in Zinnowitz without the Vineta pageants is unimaginable. The theatre performances of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne Anklam on the Ostsee-Bühne (Baltic Sea stage) at Zinnowitz have became a popular tradition during the holiday season. The content of the plays covers the history of the town which, according to legend, is sunk into the sea off the island Usedom. The performances, a mixture of acting, dancing and music, are supported by lighting, pyrotechnic and laser effects.
As a part of the recent theatre reconstruction the sound system has been renewed, and Berlin-based Audioone undertook the planning and installation of the new reinforcement system. After an on-site meeting to analyse the spacial and acoustic conditions and following detailed planning and simulation the decision was made for a K.M.E. PANO line array system with line source units QL 906 and QL 1215 on the left and right side of the stage as well as VL 10i's for the central cluster. The bass support is provided by VB 215s which are mounted on the stage roof.
The control of the QL 906 and QL 1215s comes from two DA 428s. This completely digital 4-channel amplifier can drive up to eight passive line array units. The integrated DSP controls and processes the audio signal.
The semi-circular seating arrangement with raised seat rows required a system that can be adjusted exactly to the sound required, so the decision to choose the K.M.E. PANO was not difficult. The simulation software PANO-Focus showed the necessary set-up of the line source elements and these could be realised without any problem. For the overall even coverage of the middle audience area VL 10i's are employed.
The casings of all components are covered with a high-quality polyurethane coating which offerers a protection again humidity during permanent outdoor use. Also, the loudspeaker membranes are impregnated. Another reason for audioone deciding on K.M.E. was not only the high quality of the products but also the outstanding service offered.
After the successful premiere of this year's play, ‘Der Kupferpfennig' (The Copper Penny) with the K.M.E. line array system, the opinion of all those involved was positive. Bernhard Flesch, sound engineer at the Vineta pageants said: "We are all very satisfied with the PA: a good sound quality with excellent speech reproduction. It's the ideal system for us."
