White Light adds Martin MAC III
White Light has announced the latest addition to its comprehensive, diverse rental stock: Martin's new MAC III Profile moving spotlight. Designed to offer a very high output from a 1500W lamp, and a very ‘fat' beam from its large front lens, the Martin MAC III builds on the feature set and reliability of the long-established MAC 2000 range. The fixture offers CMY plus CTO colour mixing, a seven-position colour wheel, twin five-position rotating gobo wheels, Martin's unique gobo animation wheel, a four-facet rotating/indexing prism, and an iris together with a wide-range zoom that can take the beam from 11.5 degrees up to 55 degrees. Zoom and focus are also linked for the first time in a Martin fixture.
For set-up convenience, the Martin MAC III has a battery-powered setup display/keyboard, allowing units to be addressed and configured on the ground without needing to power them up. The fixture also features a modular design for easy maintenance, and low-noise cooling allowing it to be used in situations where some other high-wattage fixtures might prove too loud.
"As always, we're aiming to provide the tools that lighting designers demand, and to provide the widest choice of equipment to fit different design requirements," comments White Light's hire and technical drector, Dave Isherwood. "The Martin Mac III looks like a fantastic light for big, bold, dramatic looks, where gobo effects are required or for productions demanding the highest output levels. We are delighted to have it join our rental fleet, which encompasses everything from the tiny MAC250 to unique fixtures such as the DHA Digital Light Curtain, as well as modern takes on the moving light such as the Clay Paky Alpha Beam range and the LED fixtures from GLP and JB Lighting."
