Association of Stage Pyrotechnicians Calls for Consultation Support on Pyro Directive
Official public consultation has started on new UK regulations to bring into UK law the EU 'pyro directive' and the document can be found here: http://www.berr.gov.uk/consultations/page52459.html.
This will affect in some way anyone who uses stage pyro and it will become law in due course.
The Association of Stage Pyrotechnicians has been active in the background on this already, identifying key individuals in other organisations and agencies and having preliminary discussions. "With the launch of the public consultation we would now like to be able to present an 'industry' response as we feel that a reply from a group of people working in the industry will carry much more weight than individual responses," said the Association. To that end, if anyone would like to comment on the proposals in any way and would like their thoughts to form part of that industry response then the ASP would be very pleased to receive them and present them. This invitation is open to anyone who uses stage pyro, ASP member or not.
Other than what appears on the web link above there is little other information publicly available. The big unknown is where the division between T1 and T2 articles will fall. This is being worked on by a European committee at the moment.
