Chris Mayes-Wright Joins Focusrite

Chris Mayes-Wright (pictured) has been appointed artist and media relations manager for Focusrite Audio Engineering. Starting at Focusrite on the 1st September 2009, Chris will be liaising with artists and members of the press, as well as directly with the Focusrite/Novation customer base, to ensure the brands are well represented in all areas.

Chris will also be responsible for maintaining the clarity of in-house marketing documents, so that the organisation and its sales channel have a sound base from which to market Focusrite and Novation products.

Having held the title of News Editor at Sound On Sound Magazine for over three years, Chris has a wealth of industry knowledge, and has built up a strong relationship with the Focusrite team.

Focusrite marketing manager Giles Orford states: "We have got to know Chris and we've experienced his exemplary attitude to work first-hand. We look forward to welcoming him to the team. We've no doubt he'll play a key role in making 2010 Focusrite's most successful year to date. He'll help to bolster messaging communications at Focusrite, boost our presence on community sites, and provide a single point of contact for Artists and Press. More importantly, he's a damn sight better writer than I'll ever be!"

Sound on Sound's Ian Gilby comments: "Chris has been a highly enthusiastic and professional member of the SOS editorial team, and whilst we're obviously sorry to see him leave, I know that he will be a very safe pair of hands to help Focusrite further enhance their centralised communications strategy. I'm pleased to be able to add that SOS has already appointed an equally capable news editor, Jules Harding, to whom Chris will be able to send Focusrite press releases."
