Hazebase - a Flying Success

In response to the increasing demand for a touring hazer that can be flown in a theatre environment, hazebase has worked in conjunction with Lighting Partners to find a means of hanging the base*hazer. Andy Parkes from Touring Custom Products was called in to find the means of simply and effectively flying the unit and the result is the new base*flyer. Not wanting to follow the crowd by just creating an afterthought bracket that the hazer simply sits in, a solution to reflect the touring design of the base*hazer was required.

Made from durable metalwork the base*flyer simply slides on the base*hazer and locks into place, with no modification to the basic unit. This allows the bracket to be left on the unit when moving venues or being stored, saving time and space. Flightcase lids still fit even with the bracket attached while only having a marginal effect on overall dimensions.

Uta Raabe from hazebase commented: "The base*flyer really was a response to customer demand and something that really enhances the range. The cased unit was always a more robust option than uncased hazers available on the market. It has total flexibility."

Iain Dennis from Lighting Partners added: "It's all about collaboration really. The base*hazer is a popular, reliable and well packaged machine but it had one limitation. By responding to customer demand and bringing the right people together, we have been able to make a great product perfect. Other flown haze solutions are fiddly and cumbersome. We believe that we now have the 100% perfect unit for touring."

The recently introduced improved base*hazer*pro further enhances the appeal of the unit for use in theatre. With improved fan and other internal components, this enhanced model makes the already quiet outgoing unit significantly quieter to the point of virtual silence in most normal operating conditions.

Another customer led enhancement is the ‘continuous fogging' option on the base*classic. This allows the machine to output continuously with no breaks for reheating. Results are a massive initial blast followed by a perfect ramp down to a slightly lower level which allows the machine to output continuously until the fluid runs out! Unlike other machines with this feature, the continuous output is smooth and elegant - no coughs or bursts. This feature is a no-cost option on all base*classic machines sold in the UK.

The base*flyer is immediately available from Lighting Partners in the UK and will soon be available globally through the hazebase global distribution network. The entire hazebase range including the innovative base*flyer will be shown at PLASA 2009 (stand Q9-Q11 in Hall 2).
