Tomcat USA Introduces Edge
Tomcat USA is introducing a new intelligent pre-rig truss designed to save space and ultimately money - Edge. Its 30" X 24" format optimizes truck space by allowing four trusses wide and features stacking spigots. Edge saves space by providing the option of Edge rotating spigots for connection in multiple planes as well as eliminating the need for bulky corner blocks. Damaged ladders can now be replaced, as opposed to the entire section of truss, with the interchangeable ladder feature.
This feature also accommodates a flat pack choice for air travel. In addition, Edge comes equipped with an internal diagonal slider assembly that adjusts, creating space for larger lights or extra lighting positions. Efficient with space, Edge offers the ultimate cost savings in every aspect of touring - truck space, shipping weight, reduced hardware, storage and replacement parts.
"We built Edge from the well established foundation of conventional Swing Wing, first introduced in 1999, and improved every aspect of the truss. From overall function, self weight, and the ability to put four wide in a truck without sacrificing space within the framework of the truss," stated sales manager, Brad Barnhill. "Our focus is making Edge accessible without renting, like others have chosen to do. We are currently very active in this process across the globe. It is my hope that customers will consider a demo of Edge, even if another truss is currently being used," added Barnhill.
An 8' section of Edge weighs only 195 lbs and can sustain 3760 lbs total UDL over a 40' span. Edge is available now in 8' and 10' lengths. Tomcat truss products meet ANSI E1.2-2006. Patent is pending on the Edge rotating spigots.
