EFM on European Festival Circuit

EFM on European Festival Circuit

EFM project manager Joe O'Malley covered the length and breadth of Europe this summer, from Dublin to Istanbul, chartering flights to transfer Placebo, Keane and Razorlight (along with their instruments and backline equipment) from festival to festival.

The bands have enjoyed successful live runs of shows amidst a busy summer, making appearances at a wide variety of Europe's expanding festival scene. Joe, who has several years experience managing live event logistics and transportation for bands of all sizes within EFM's music division, said: "This summer has required some very precise programming, and having taken 37 flights in 12 weeks I have earned a lot of air-miles accompanying these bands to meet all of their commitments. With the increasing opportunities opening up to bands through more festivals and media outlets, it is all the more important that we manage the logistics of their movements attentively. Missing a show is not an option, which we've achieved on this very busy schedule by thorough planning with the flexibility to accommodate the unexpected."

Joe also went farther afield with Keane accompanying them through Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea. And as the festival season drew to a close, Joe embarked on a final festival trip to Switzerland to attend Musikfestwochen Winterthur, operating an Antonov 26 aircraft between Zurich and St Petersburg as there were no viable scheduled services that could accommodate the backline.
