Nexo Appoints UK Sales Manager and Restructures Distribution
Gareth Collyer has been appointed as Nexo's new sales manager for the UK and Ireland, spearheading a new distribution programme designed to bring this leading loudspeaker and amplifier manufacturer closer to its customers.
Nexo recently exhibited at the PLASA show in its own right for the first time in nearly 20 years, marking the recent strategic move away from third-party distribution to direct manufacturer support for the UK market. As Nexo's regional manager, Gareth Collyer will take charge of a network of elite dealers, with a brief to expand and consolidate Nexo's profile in the UK and Eire.
Collyer is well-known to the pro-audio industry, having spent the last four years bringing Harman's professional brands to the UK's installation and tour sound markets. He has an extensive track record, having spent his formative years in sales and market development with Bose UK and Lamba plc. He worked extensively as a professional DJ before joining Harman Pro UK in 2005 where his career trajectory through the company and its product range brought him to the position as sales manager of engineered sound products at Sound Technology, working with JBL, Crown and AKG amongst other brands.
With extensive experience in all aspects of dealer support, from sales and product training to the preparation of quotations and presentations, Collyer is ideally placed to build the new Nexo network. "My primary objective is to establish this world-famous brand in the position it deserves in the UK and Irish markets," he says. "Naturally we will be working closely with tour sound and rental providers, but I also intend to place more emphasis on the installation side of the market, bringing consultants and specialist installers at all levels into closer contact with Nexo's awesome line-up of system solutions."
