PALME Middle East sets out its stall for 2010 growth

As the Middle East's professional audio, lighting, AV and events sector takes stock of the recent economic troubles and a drop in orders, early signs of recovery are looking good from key regional players as they secure their space early for PALME 2010, with the show attracting a new regional audience.

Companies are competing fiercely with the various big projects still ongoing in the region; from the $20 billion King Abdulla Economic City to the new 5,000-seat arena at Muscat's University and Jordan's $10.5 billion dollar mixed use development. In the Live events market, the next 12 months are also very busy with the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix in November 09, the Dubai Rugby 7s in December 09 and The America's Cup in February 2010. Dubai Sound City and floods of big name acts are also set to tour the region. "All these projects and events are a clear indication that the markets are picking up," says Alex Heuff, show director for PALME Middle East.

PALME is at the forefront of the Live Events and AV industries for the Middle East and North Africa, attracting key systems integrators, design consultants, rental and staging companies, distributors and dealers, all of whom want to assess and learn about the broad spectrum of audio-visual solutions and lighting technologies on offer. Taking place from the 18 - 20th April, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, PALME can expect to welcome over 180 exhibitors, covering 15,000sqm of floor space, from 35 countries, including three group pavilions from Taiwan, Germany and China.
