Artistic Licence at the ARC Show
This year's ARC show in London is the ideal forum in which to visit Artistic Licence to discuss your control and systems integration requirements.
The stand will be divided into zones, each of which will focus on the technological possibilities presented by Artistic Licence systems. Main areas of focus will be Art-Net and RDM, DALI and DMX Integration, Colour-Tramp and show control and Interfacing. Within these technologies, example systems will be shown along with real world challenges and solutions. Artistic Licence staff will be on hand with tips and techniques on how to devise systems which are truly seamless and ‘multi-lingual'.
The ARC Show 2010 sees the launch of two new Artistic Licence products: Rail-DALI-DMX and Rail-DMX-DALI. These are improved and upgraded conversion tools which will supersede the existing Rail-DALI converter and establish the next generation of DMX/DALI control. Following their launch at the show, Rail-DALI-DMX and Rail-DMX-DALI will be shipping from the end of February 2010.
New to ARC 2010 will be Artistic Licence Sign-Control and Two-Play which were launched at London's PLASA 09 in September when Two-Play received a Commendation from the judges in the PLASA 09 Awards for Innovation. Sign-Control is a DIN-Rail mounted DMX512 playback system, controlled by 14 buttons, a Real Time Clock, RS232 and two external triggers. Features include three pages of eight memories along with one page of six sequences. Each memory or sequence contains all 512 channels. Aimed at simple to sophisticated room control applications, and suitable for control of any LED application, Sign-Control is already making inroads into the digital display industry.
Two-Play is a Two-Universe DMX & Art-Net Recorder and Playback Controller with remote triggering options and configuration features. Many hours of show playback can be recorded onto the internal memory card from DMX512 input or Art-Net, and up to four shows simultaneously transmitted to two universes. Playback is initiated from a number of sources, including a Real Time Clock and external triggers. Remote configuration and programming is possible via a built-in web browser.
Artistic Licence will also be showing-casing its latest products currently in development, the Pixi-Tile and an SFP connection for Data-Lynx and Art-Switch PoE products. Representing the next step in the expanding range of Pixi-Flex LED products, Pixi-Tile incorporates Pixi-Flex technology into a 30cm x 30cm plastic tile casing, each of which carries 16 LEDs. Tiles can be surface mounted to form a low resolution LED wall and effects run across it using the same control technology as standard Pixi-Flex.
The SFP connection module being developed for Data-Lynx and Art-Switch PoE enables the use of SFP modules within these products. An SFP module will accept devices that connect to fibre optic cable without the need for additional equipment. This SFP functionality has been chosen as it is an industry-adopted standard that allows the user to select the right module for their application. A wide range of modules, performing different tasks, is available from different manufacturers.
The ARC show is the opportunity for visitors to view Pixi-Tile and the SFP function and submit their feedback to Artistic Licence whilst the product is still in development.
Colour-Tramp is a lighting control system specifically designed to handle the complexity of two and three dimensional lighting. It provides a full implementation of V1.0 Remote Device Management and a rich selection of triggering options, including keyboard, MIDI, email, etc. There is a wealth of functions and features within Colour-Tramp and Artistic Licence will be holding a series of training sessions throughout 2010 to show designers how to get the best out of Colour-Tramp. Training sessions will take place at the Artistic Licence head offices in London or can be tailored to meet delegates needs and delivered in the customers' offices.
