Richard Martin Lighting Turns to Martin P3-100 System Controller for Next Generation Video Control

The latest addition to Richard Martin Lighting's stock, the P3-100 System Controller from Martin Professional, got its debut recently in connection with the 30th fundraising "Children In Need" appeal show filmed live at BBC Television Centre (TVC) in London.

The P3-100, an advanced video signal processor, was used to drive 16 Martin LC Series LED video panels located in the TVC's main reception windows. The P3-100 is an intelligent interface between the source and the screen that allows LED screens to be treated like lighting instruments through direct DMX control of brightness, color, positioning, pixelmapping and more. It includes a built-in graphical user interface and other innovative features and makes setting up an LED screen a simple process.

Richard Martin Lighting (RML) again supplied the lighting and crew for "Children in Need," the 8th year running they have done so. Lighting design for the live show was by Dave Gibson of the BBC.

"The decision to buy the Martin P3-100 System Controllers was an informed move into the next generation of Martin LC products for Richard Martin Lighting," stated RML managing director Richard Jasinski. "The P3 offers a vastly superior performance through Cat5e technology, eliminating the restrictions of DVI. Using the new Martin protocol, the LC panels can be configured simply and quickly and now even at long distances.

"For a hire company like ourselves, recognising the requirements on the ground for quality, ease and simplicity is key and investing in these controllers will give our clients an improved experience when hiring the LC panels."

Over £20 million were raised from the event which will be used to fund projects helping disadvantaged young people across Great Britain.

Note: Martin UK will be holding a training workshop on January 13 to demonstrate the capabilities of the P3-100 Controller working with Martin LC Series LED panels. The workshop will take place in Park Royal, London. Contact jessica.allan@martin.dk or phone 07766 426 822 for details
