Blast From The Past with Avolites PRL001
As Avolites moves forward with the new Titan software, Pearl Expert, Expert Touch Wing and Tiger Touch, it provides an occasion to look back and remember its humble beginnings. The company received recently a heart warming tale from 1994.
Avolites were exhibiting their first Pearl when Swedish rental company Fremlab paid a visit to the PLASA show. Their managing director Carl-Fredrik Malmgren remembers it well: ‘I was visiting with a lighting designer as we were looking for a new console when, after an hour, he approached me to say: ‘I have found the new console, an Avolites!' I thought it was out of my price range, but then when I checked it out I got a very interesting quote"' And with that, Carl was hooked.
Avo representative Tony Shembish informed them they were the first to purchase on the opening day of PLASA, making their model PRL001. Since then it has seen a lot of use over the years at various shows, conferences, concerts and fashion shows. Sadly though, it has now seen its last gig with Fremlab when with lighting operator Marcus Wibom at the helm it made its final farewell at a corporate event in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Fremlab, who dearly ‘love their Avolife', has now upgraded to a Pearl Tiger, which will help light their way into the future!
