DNP and Partners Reap the Benefits of ISE 2010

Award-winning optical screen manufacturers, dnp Denmark, report an overwhelming response to their portfolio of displays at the recent ISE 2010 in Amsterdam, where German distributors, COMM-TEC and Paradigm AV from the UK were able to demonstrate the clear advantages of their groundbreaking technology.

Global sales manager, Søren Kraemmergaard, described the decision to allow their key resellers to represent the company's range in their own specialist sectors as a complete success. "We noticed the favourable response, not only at these booths but also those of OEM partners such as Christie and Eyevis," he said.

Kraemmergaard added that although the general traffic appeared reduced this year, dnp were excited by the quality of visitor, and the potential of the follow-ups that this has generated.

While the market was clearly getting more competitive, dnp seemed largely unaffected. "Generally we saw more ‘white screen' manufacturers of primarily front projections rather than so called optical projection screens, similar to those produced by dnp - which is good for our market segment."

Over at the busy Paradigm AV stand, sales director Mick Perrone highlighted the benefits of dnp media displays with an eye-catching dnp Supernova Infinity

demonstration screen - offset by a white section of standard front projection screen across one corner. "This was a fantastic way of illustrating the superior image quality and contrast that the Supernova delivers in high ambient light conditions," he said.

Paradigm have also done more than most to promote dnp's traditional rear projection screens and they demonstrated the dnp Ultra Contrast screen for digital signage in a shoot-out against a competitive product. "Both screens had the same content and were powered by identical projectors - and in like-for-like circumstances it clearly showed the dnp screen to be the best in the marketplace for window installations."

Summing up, he said, "For us, the show in general was very positive as we had more visitors coming to see us with specific projects and applications in mind, whereas last year it was more about information gathering."

COMM-TEC's ethos of ‘Seeing is Believing' became the central theme, and their Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, Rainer Sprinzl, said that the dnp Supernovas left "an enormous impression" after being demonstrated under difficult trade show lighting conditions.

Coupled with the fact that ISE has now consolidated as the main European market place for manufacturers, distributors and integrators - as well as pulling in more people from the IT sector - they could scarcely have been more positive.

"The projects appear to be increasingly linked to digital signal management and IP based systems, and small and medium sized digital signage installations, in particular, are growing very fast," he observed. "The larger ones, however, still have got a long sales and planning cycle before they will be realised."

Reviewing the global thrust of the show, dnp's Søren Kraemmergaard also observed the "massive interest" in 3D for simulation, film and gaming, while noting that dnp's Chinese OEM partners, such as Delta and Vtron, also adopted a high profile. "Certainly this proves that Chinese Cube manufacturers intend to play a future role in Europe as well."

Summing up, he said:"In the increasingly competitive world, it is vital to be able to prove (and document) value-added benefits and at the same time create and maintain loyal and mutual partnerships. We feel that at ISE dnp has been able to demonstrate these strengths."
