Ard Soilse Lights the Coronas
Ard Soilse Productions Ltd, one of Ireland's premier lighting and production hire companies, was contracted by 8ball promotions to provide an outdoor roof for their charity week concerts, featuring headliners Sharon Shannon and the Coronas.
Ard Soilse specified a Milos MR1 roof system, built with self-climbing towers, giving the roof usability whilst maintaining the desirable curved shape.
Arguably one of the most popular rising bands in Ireland, the Coronas deserved a rig befitting such a band, and Ard Soilse was there to supply it. ASP Designers specified 14 Elation Design 300E fixtures, in two arcs, along with 15 Elation Design Brick 36's. Nine of the Bricks were mounted above the 300's on one of the arcs, with the remaining six being used for a solid back light.
"I am always really impressed by the brightness of the Design Brick's," said Joe Betts of Ard Soilse. "Their 3w Rebel LED's give them a superb brightness, whilst maintaining the high quality and colour consistency expected of high end LED fixtures today."
The concert was performed to 1800 people in the University of Limerick Students Union Courtyard. The following night concert was performed by Sharon Shannon, with designer Brendan making good use of the rig specified by Ard Soilse.
