RML for the Referendum
UK - In recent years the BBC have worked tirelessly to bring TV and entertainment to the masses and more and more of their shows are being filmed around the country. Huge state-of-the-art facilities have been built in Manchester and Glasgow and Richard Martin Lighting (RML) have embraced the development and progression that comes with working in these different studios.
They therefore felt honoured to be able to be a part of the Referendum by providing lights for the coverage show on the BBC. Although it wasn’t aired in England, it was a significant night for everyone who was privileged enough to be involved, and as you can imagine, ratings were huge.
To ensure that we at RML can provide the type of service that our customers can and should expect, they worked with local company Teknique Systems Ltd (TSL), who oversee their projects in Scotland. Tony Kennedy and his team have a great rapport with customers and know the crew and studios like the back of their hand, making them an obvious choice to work with.
As a lighting rental company, one of the exciting things that happens with such massive events that have huge lighting rigs, is that you have a kit list which includes fixtures from most of the major lighting manufacturers. Lighting designer Martin Kemptons’ spec included Pixellines, Mac Auras, Sharpys, ROBIN 100 LEDBeams, VL1000TSs, PixelPar 90s and SGM P5s.
