Harlequin Floors’ Austrian Art & Culture partner wins top award

Austria - Harlequin Floors is delighted that a business co-operation has resulted in arts partner, ImPulsTanz being presented with the prestigious Maecenas Special Recognition Award "Art & Culture for successful engagement and cooperation with business" in Vienna.

ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival is a major contemporary dance festival held in Vienna, Austria each year attracting thousands of professional dancers, choreographers and teachers for a five-week program of performance, research projects and workshops. ImPulsTanz was presented with their Maecenas Award at a glittering ceremony hosted at Vienna’s historic Hotel Imperial on Wednesday evening. This award was given for the first time this year and honours Austrian cultural initiatives cooperation with supporting businesses.

ImPulsTanz successfully presented to the Maecenas Awards jury their innovative sponsoring cooperation concept with Harlequin Floors, along with their other sponsoring partners, Casino Austria and Mondi. As part of the cooperation with Harlequin Floors, which will run for five years, Harlequin Floors provided 5,000m² of new dance vinyl to the festival this the summer.

Dirk Rüter, general manager Harlequin Floors Germany, Austria and Switzerland said: "We are delighted that ImPulsTanz has received this award. Harlequin Floors has a record of supporting many dance projects over the years and it is very gratifying that our efforts have been honoured in this way." Dirk continued, "Business sponsorship is essential for the success of a lot of cultural projects and initiatives, and it is wonderful that Austria has this award, which not only acknowledges the support that many businesses already give to the cultural sector, but also will hopefully generate more interest among businesses to support arts and culture projects."

ImPulsTanz was started by Karl Regensburger and choreographer Ismael Ivo in 1984 as the "Internationale Tanzwochen Wien" taking the name "ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival" in 1988.
