Stagemaker hoists installed in AED's new production studios
Belgium - Opened a year ago, AED Studios, located between Brussels and Antwerp, are fitted out with almost 130 Stagemaker hoists, used to raise or lower production equipment such as lighting units, sceneries / settings, etc.
AED group, based in Belgium and operating in five countries with a workforce of 185, is a major equipment provider offering a comprehensive range of solutions for the audio and audiovisual industry: short-term or long-term FlexLease rentals (AED Rent and AED Display), leasing (AED Lease), sale of new equipment (AED Distribution) together with the purchase and sale of second-hand standardized products (AED Second Hand) relating to sound, lighting, rigging and video equipment (projectors, LED walls). Glenn Roggeman,
CEO of AED Group, acquired Alfacam Studios last year, creating one of Europe's largest and most modern film and audio visual production complexes. With a total fully renovated surface area of 60,000 m2 comprising 16 different studios, the complex is available for the production of TV programmes, film making, setting up of concert scenes, company events, etc. The complex also incorporates 90 accommodation units for the filming crews, a heliport and – it goes without saying – numerous makeup rooms, production rooms and offices, etc.
"AED Rent and Stagemaker have been close partners for 15 years, so their equipment was used in the new studios as a matter of course. But apart from the business relationship, we especially appreciate Stagemaker equipment for its high levels of safety and reliability, a vital aspect in the entertainment industry," said a Verlinde spokesman.
To meet specifications, some 100 hoists were integrated in the ceiling equipment of the new complex's eight studios.
