Stage Electrics Invests Over £1m in Lighting and Projection

UK – 2015 has seen Stage Electrics invest over £1 million in new Martin Professional lighting fixtures and Panasonic projectors.

The company is one of the first rental companies to stock the Martin Mac Aura XB, which are currently on a UK tour with Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert. It has also invested heavily in Mac Quantum Profiles and Washes, as well as Mac Viper Performances and Washes.

Currently Stage Electrics has over 150 Mac Vipers on seven productions, including UK tours of Priscilla, Guys and Dolls, The Bodyguard Musical, Shrek The Musical plus international tours of The Sound of Music and Singin’ In The Rain in New Zealand and Manila

Tim Mitchell is the lighting designer for Singin’ In The Rain, he is a confirmed fan of Martin Pro fixtures, the Mac Viper in particular. “If you need a light that is compact, bright, flexible and quick then I think you should look no further than the Viper Performance,” he says. “They have been the backbone of two major UK tours of mine this year and will be going into my future work in the coming months.

“Couple this with the Viper DX, which is so bright that it makes similar fixtures seem like they’re on half power and has the added advantage of internal barndoors to shape the beam, and they make a great package which makes life as an LD on a tight schedule a whole lot easier. I can not recommend the Viper range enough!”

As well as established shows, the investment includes equipment for Stage Electrics free stockholding, to cover short-term requirements. This means the company can respond instantly to any rental needs.

A further investment has been made in Panasonic’s brand new PT-RQ13K / RZ12K Series projectors. Claimed by the manufacturer to be the world’s lightest three-chip DLP laser projector with 4K+ resolution, the unit’s immersive image quality, low running costs, reliability and installation flexibility means it is suitable for many applications.

“We constantly invest in the most up-to-date equipment for our audio, lighting and video hire stock,” says Adrian Searle, head of technical and hire at Stage Electrics. “This continues to offer our customers the very latest in cutting edge technology.”
