RSH Audio expand rental stock offering with Yamaha and Shure systems
UK – Pro-audio equipment rental company, RSH Audio has recently invested in a significant upgrade to rental stock to serve their ever-increasing live and corporate workload.
Having received such a positive response to their initial Yamaha QL1 digital console investment which has successfully served their increasing sub-hire market demands, Joe Haycocks, director at RSH Audio was prompted to consider the suitability of the company’s other assets for the demands of busy rental and production companies.
“I am keen to continue developing our sub-hire market work which we supply very effectively. With that in mind I looked to Yamaha CL and QL digital consoles and Shure QLX-D digital wireless systems for the solution,” comments Haycocks. “On our own shows, we have found the Yamaha and Shure systems work brilliantly for both the live and corporate shows that we do. The way the two systems tie together by running them over Dante is fantastic. In terms of quality, the sound of the Yamaha consoles is leagues above the previous generation; we found it superior to the previous system we owned, particularly with regards to the user-friendliness and quality of the on-board FX. The ease of use of the Yamaha kit and the familiarity of it to most technicians, be they our own freelancers or our sub-hire client’s was also an important factor. The sound quality of the Shure ULX-D kit is exceptional, very clean. The systems are very easy to configure and the components feel rugged which is always important with Live work.”
Focusing on serving their rental and production markets even more effectively has generated a very positive response from their clients. “Our Business-to-business clients have been especially happy to see us increasing our rental stock offerings and while we do so, we are making an effort to invest the extra in packaging the equipment neatly and to a ‘full-touring spec’ standard.”
RSH Audio hase also invested in an upgrade to their amplification and processing stock to meet the demands of its busy autumn season which sees Haycocks and the team working on a large warehouse party project called ‘We Are WHSE’ at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse in London. Haycocks comments, “The Yamaha consoles and Shure systems have been in use there as well as numerous other dance music events. The electronic dance music event market has always been a main focus of mine whilst my background is in the corporate and production side of the industry. With the right rental stock now available to us as a result of the upgrade we’ve definitely felt a marked and positive increase in the amount of corporate work we are doing, chiefly as a specialist audio supplier to larger production companies.
RSH Audio is a regular supplier for Zero Degrees Events, a technical and creative events production company with whom they enjoy a close relationship, supplying equipment for a variety of events on a regular basis, including The Social Festival in Kent, Carnaby Street Christmas Lights and the Varsity Ski Trip in Val Thorens.
Haycocks is also happy to partner with companies much-aligned with RSH Audio’s market focus such as London-based Aztec Event Services and Eclipse Presentations. “Working in partnership with those people and companies who have common goals in achieving superior sound quality for live and corporate music events means you create a very helpful network of partners to work with. It’s an enjoyable experience.”
Additionally, Haycocks is in the process of building a sister brand to RSH Audio in Event Technics, which covers complete event production. “With the number of projects where I am providing or production managing far more than just audio increasing, I felt it important to try and build a new brand to reflect that.”
JP Cavaco (sales manager, LMC Audio) comments: “Whether deploying equipment for their own projects, or supplying to their increasing sub-hire market, I’d like to congratulate RSH Audio on a substantial growth year in 2015. Their investment into both Yamaha and Shure continues to yield excellent returns and allied to a strong business model has seen the company go from strength to strength. On a personal level, Joe Haycocks has been an absolute pleasure to work with; focussed and highly professional at every juncture. I wish him and RSH Audio every success going forwards.”
Commenting on his experience in working with LMC, Haycocks says: “The back-up and support from LMC has always been great, from JP Cavaco’s impartial advice to the company helping me to secure finance and then making sure that our staff were placed on training courses with both Yamaha and Shure. I really value the relationship!”
