Audio Clarity and Reliability for Lublin’s New Stadium
Poland – Located in the provincial capital city of Lublin in eastern Poland, Arena Lublin is a new 15,500 seat capacity football stadium. Built on the land of a former sugar factory, the stadium’s surrounding area has been fully landscaped and is bordered by trees, with lawns to the adjacent river. Home ground to the football club Motor Lublin, the city is proud of its new landmark venue.
With unequalled experience in stadium audio in Poland, Tommex Żebrowscy Sp. J. was commissioned to design and install the sound for the new venue. “We designed the system based on Dynacord electronics with Dante protocol networks and Community R SERIES loudspeakers,” said Marcin Zimny, sales director of Tommex. “It’s a combination that gives us outstanding audio quality and proven reliability.”
The control centre of the sound system is sited in the commentary room with a Dynacord CMS 1600 mixer and Dell PC. Operating on an IRIS-Net network, full control of the audio system is provided from this location. Audio monitoring is provided on Genelec 6010A monitors and headphones. Commentary is via Sennheiser radio mics with a Sabine digital feedback eliminator. A Denon CD/MP3 player provides an audio source for recorded material.
Providing full redundancy, there are two separate amp rooms. These house the Dynacord P64 digital audio matrix manager units and the DPM 8016 digital matrix manager which incorporates the redundant network system. The system is powered by Dynacord DSA 8410 and DSA 8405 amplifiers, equipped with RCM 810 IRIS-net modules. Additional DSA 8405 amplifiers with DCS provide immediate backup if required.
The main stadium sound system comprises 74 Community R SERIES loudspeakers. “In addition to speech and music quality and all-weather reliability, R SERIES provides accurate dispersion with a wide range of throw and pattern options,” comments Zimny. “For Arena Lublin we achieved exceptionally even coverage of the complete 360-degree seating with 52 R.5-94s, 20 R.5-66s and two R2-474s.”
Tommex also provided the audio for rooms and corridors within the arena with 142 loudspeakers. This included Community’s DS8 surface-mount and D4 ceiling loudspeakers. The internal system can be locally operated by two Dynacord wall-mounted mixer/controllers.
“The Arena Lublin system delivers the experience fans would expect from a new world-class facility,” concludes Zimny. “Intelligibility is easily maintained above the roar of the crowd, delivering entertainment and safety. With an outstanding venue and clear audio, they can really enjoy football.”
