Dubai gets first glimpse of Doughty's Modular Rigging System
Doughty Engineering will introduce its award-winning Modular Rigging System to its Middle Eastern customers at PALME ME, which opens on May 11. Just last month the range made a highly successful European debut at ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt and Julian Chiverton, sales director at Doughty, is anticipating that the reaction in the Gulf will be equally positive.
"This is the first time our drop arms and h-frames will have been seen in the Middle East – they only had their official launch at PLASA 2014, since when they have been riding high on a wave of success and we are keen to keep that momentum going. That's why we value the opinions of new and existing customers – so that we can use their feedback to continually develop the product and add new items to the range as demand for new and different ways of using the products arises. It's why shows like PALME are invaluable to us.”
Mark Chorley, design engineer at Doughty, explained: “Every show introduces us to different customers who all have their own unique ideas of how the Modular Rigging System can be used. The list of uses grows each time we exhibit and we're certainly looking forward to hearing how our customers in the Middle East envisage using it. We designed the range as a way of giving lighting designers options which were previously unavailable to them – their only boundary is their own imagination.”
As well as the Modular Rigging System, Doughty's other products, including clamps and pantographs, will also be on display on stand ZC20.
