ADI secure Silverstone screen contract
Event screen specialist ADI has been awarded the contract to deliver Silverstone Circuit’s LED screen requirements until 2018. As part of the new three year agreement Silverstone will gain access to Europe’s largest fleet of mobile screens and receive an up-lift in the amount of LED on-site of over 45%.
Nick Robinson, ADI’s rentals director, commented: “This is an incredibly prestigious contract to secure and we hope to add value to the overall experience Silverstone offers its customers throughout the year. A key part of this will be through significantly increasing the size and resolution of screens supplied. 1334m² of LED in 2014 will rise to a total of 1977m², which is an additional 643m² across Silverstone events, equating to an overall up-lift in LED product of over 45% – and a better view for all.”
Alex Lacey, head of events at Silverstone said: “By choosing ADI we have access to the very latest and highest quality screen solutions, in addition to benefiting from their impressive expertise and pedigree in live events. We are looking forward to working closely with ADI to improve the quality of screens and enhance the Silverstone customer experience.”
The British Grand Prix featured the most LED screens of any UK live event, with a staggering 23 mobile screens and five modular LED screens located across the famous circuit. This totals over 1400m² of LED just for this single event. ADI worked with Creative Technology to deliver the range of modular LED screens specified and added value by upgrading the circuit’s fibre network. This resulted in HD feeds being delivered to the majority of screens for the first time, not just for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, but also events including the Silverstone Classic, British Superbikes and the MotoGP.
The securing of this contract sees ADI further consolidate their position as a leading supplier to European motorsport. ADI already hold long standing contracts with the Belgian Grand Prix, and provide screens to several MotoGP’s, British Touring Car Championships and British Superbike events.
