Ampetronic appointed Listen Technologies distributor for the UK

Ampetronic, the world’s leading hearing loop systems manufacturer and supplier has announced that effective from 1st October it will also support and distribute Listen Technologies’ assistive listening products in the United Kingdom through a new company, Ampetronic Assistive Listening.

Ampetronic and Listen have a well-established alliance, with Listen distributing Ampetronic’s hearing loop products in the rapidly growing American market with great success for a number of years. By representing Ampetronic’s loop technology in the USA, Listen have been able to offer a full range of assistive listening systems that suit the wide range of different possible applications. Ampetronic Assistive Listening will now be able to offer a full array of technology solutions into the UK, including Listen’s advanced new iDSP product ranges.

Listen Technologies, America’s leading assistive listening manufacturer and distributor, have recently developed impressive iDSP infra-red technology that utilises advanced new materials design to reduce distance, line-of-sight and lighting interference issues that are commonly associated with IR and also allows fast and simple programming of both the system and receivers via intuitive software.

“We’re really excited to be the ones to shine a light on Listen’s new products in the UK, particularly the new infra-red solution that we’ve seen in action and subjected to rigorous testing – it’s a class apart from what’s currently available in the market in terms of power and area coverage and the new receivers produce a clear uninterrupted audio experience, in fact they’re so good you can use them to improve the performance of an existing installation,” said Ampetronic’s MD Julian Pieters.

“Hearing loops have always been the go-to assistive listening application in the UK market - as it is the most popular with telecoil enabled hearing aid and cochlear implant users, who are in the majority in the UK. However, it is not always practical to install a hearing loop and there are many scenarios where IR or FM is either more suitable or the only option. Ampetronic recognises this and will be able to impartially apply their considerable resources and expertise to providing the most suitable solution to their clients in all applications,” said Listen Technologies CEO Russell Gentner.

As the market leaders, Ampetronic's partnership with Listen Technologies will bring the full range of high quality assistive listening solutions and unrivalled support, coupled with next-day inventory availability and free expert advice to the UK for the first time, all of which is great news for the people who experience hearing loss and actually use the systems, as both companies have a strong commitment to manufacturing and specifying solutions that provide a high quality listening experience.
