Arena Seating saddled up for 25th year at London International Horse Show
UK – Olympia’s London International Horse Show attracted equestrian fans from across the globe, blending nail-biting show jumping competitions, horsemanship displays and festive shopping stalls from - 15th - 21st December 2015.
Arena Seating installed 7,586 tiered temporary seats at Olympia; 5,191 were public Tip-up seats and the remaining 2,405 were upholstered Instyle VIP seats.
Within the venue, Arena Seating also installed press and competitor interview platforms which were home to the world’s sports journalists for the week, followspot platforms facilitating illuminations throughout equine performances, judge platforms offering a clear view of the indoor arena and hospitality platform supports.
Indoor arena entrance doors, jump stores, presentation areas, video screen supports, a bridged logo platform and ménage surface retaining walls were also supplied by Arena.
Arena Seating project manager Martin Clark comments: “It’s always a challenge to meet the demanding schedule, whilst allowing the other suppliers to also complete their work. We interface with at least ten other companies so it is crucial that we work together to ensure the build is completed swiftly – we usually have a build time of eight days but this year we completed the install in seven days, a testament to the hard work of the team.”
Highlights of this year’s equine spectacle included Jos Verlooy from Belgium and Germany’s Hilmar Meyer being named Puissance champions after clearing a staggering 2.15m (7ft 1 in) over the famous wall, plus British star Ben Maher scooped the €15,000 prize in the winner takes all Christmas Master show jumping competition.
