Arena Group Acquires RIM Scaffolding
UK – Arena Group has acquired the event equipment, management and operational teams of Leeds-based RIM Scaffolding, extending its global event infrastructure offering to a wealth of sporting and live event clients.
RIM Scaffolding, with a 25 year history in the live events industry, is renowned for its expertise in designing and building structures for prestigious dates such as the Ryder Cup, Wimbledon, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Henley Regatta. In 2008, the business expanded into the UAE, China and India and subsequently supplied the Omega World Cup, the Dubai World Championships and the HSBC Men’s Championship in Shanghai.
As a result of the acquisition, Arena Group has added significant amounts of scaffold systems, glass handrails, viewing decks, sub platforms for temporary structures and ice rinks, camera platforms and carpentry services.
Now known as Arena RIM Scaffolding, the acquired business will continue to manage relationships with existing clients whilst developing new opportunities, enjoying the benefits of far more rapid growth with financial and operational backing as part of the Arena Group. Existing Arena Group clients will benefit from key investments into equipment and resources, with a full turnkey offering providing value for money and a shared ethos for delivering projects to the highest of standards.
Grahame Muir, CEO of Arena Group UK & Europe explains: “RIM Scaffolding is a business that we have long admired, having first started working with them many years ago as our labour contractors. Both businesses share the vision for quality and professionalism. We have worked in parallel on many of the same events so the addition of a scaffold business will provide an additional number of opportunities, whilst making an event organisers’ life significantly easier and delivering even better value. We believe RIM, as part of Arena Group has a bright future ahead whilst helping to further bolster our offering as we continue to grow.”
Willy Irish, managing director of Arena RIM Scaffolding (pictured) adds: “Arena Group has the expertise that has seen it deliver to the finest sporting events in the world many of which RIM have been involved in, closely aligning both business’ skills and expertise. I am excited to join the Arena team at this progressive time of expansion and Arena RIM Scaffolding will help deliver additional services to a prestigious roster of clients on a global platform.”
