Arena Seating enable Bristol’s Future Gymnastics Stars to Shine
UK – As Bristol celebrates being crowned European city of sport 2017, Arena Seating supplied Yate International Gymnastics Centre with temporary seating for its grassroots interclub competition, 28th January – 15th February 2016.
Tony Sainsbury, Arena Seating project manager and two additional crew members took just four hours to install 284 red plastic tiered tip-up seats over an eight-row structure. The structure was built using a 254mm rise understructure, with galvanised handrails and debris netting to the sides and rear of the temporary grandstand. This netting created a concealed area for valuable additional storage space, helping the venue to maximise limited space.
Mark Thorne from Acro Gymnastics comments: “Arena Seating has been supplying the home of the King Edmund Acro Gymnastics Club for the past nine years, over which we have seen the popularity of grassroots gymnastics go from strength to strength. This year, our Yate club alone now holds 1,400 members, but over this interclub weekend we shall see children from another 23 clubs across the UK compete, with ages ranging from six to 12 years old.”
Tony Sainsbury adds: “It is a privilege to work with Yate International Gymnastics Centre year on year and see the popularity of the sport grow, and in turn the audience members also increase. The team are always on hand, ready and able to change the number of required seats at late notice, as events like these are dependent on ticket sales.
“This event showcases Arena Seating can deliver temporary seating ranging from large Olympic venues right down to small grassroots sports venues – no project is too big or small for our team to take on.”
