Stage Electrics and Limbic Cinema team up to provide projection
UK – The Theatre Royal Bristol is the longest continuously running theatre in the UK. Last month marked the venue's 250th Birthday and was celebrated in style with a huge street party, including a unique visual art show that graced the historic building’s more modern neighbour. The neighbouring brick-built façade was brought to life before an awe-inspired audience with clever projection mapping from Limbic Cinema who provided tailored content and bespoke animation using two 20,000 Lumen Panasonic PT-DZ21K projectors supplied by Stage Electrics.
The audience was taken on a brief journey through the venues 250 year history before being shown a tantalising glimpse of the theatres planned future. Historic footage was used, which included legendary Bristol Old Vic actors of the past Peter O’Toole and Pete Postlethwaite. The show reached a thrilling climax when the proposed designs for the new foyer were projected onto the old building, showing what audiences can expect after the Theatre's re-development is finished.
Hugo Stanbury, Stage Electrics project manager commented: “The client was extremely happy with the technical elements and the whole spectacular looked fantastic. We have worked on a number of successful large scale projection projects with Limbic Cinema, but this was truly stunning.”
