Australia’s Elite Event Technology Bulks Up on ProCable
Australia – Canberra’s Elite Events recently added another 700 metres of ProCable 18X1.5 assemblies to its already significant inventory of the popular six-circuit cable. TMB’s distribution partner, Lexair Entertainment of New South Wales is the provider for this and other top quality TMB products in Australia and New Zealand.
“We own around 10 kilometres of TMB Cables,” says Darren Russell, Elite Event’s managing director. “In addition to ProCable Soca cables built in the UK, we’ve invested in ProPlex DMX and Ethernet assemblies, as well as various headers, patch panels, and tails.”
Darren adds: “In the past we made our own DMX and Ethernet cabling. The ProPlex purchases were the first time we bought complete data cables off the shelf. We looked at some samples and were impressed with the quality; they were really well made, as well as nice to roll. After doing the maths, it turned out to cost about the same as our outlay for just the components, and then we'd still have to build them, which makes the rugged ProPlex an extremely good value.”
Elite has run ProCable multicables in their rigs for years. “We've found it to be really reliable and we wanted more of the same,” confirmed Darren. “If it’s working, no need to fix it! But we’ve grown to such a point where we just need more of everything. We were running out of Soca cable all the time, and it’s been great to take the opportunity to just buy a whole load in the same order. As we speak, I literally just walked past a pallet of Soca getting our branding heat-shrunk on it, going into our system kits, and being sent out to work.”
“We’ve had long relationships with all of the staff from Lexair, and they're great guys,” reports Darren. “In all our dealings with them, whether for TMB or other products, their service has been excellent. We're always happy to pick up the phone and talk to Lexair.”
Lexair Entertainment was founded in 2011 and is renowned in Australasia for providing lighting and A/V solutions.
