Audient's Partnership with SAE Institute Continues to Grow with Latest German Install
Germany – “Signal flow is not hard to understand on this console and it sounds great,” says Dominik Kammerer from SAE Institute Deutschland, describing the new ASP8024 Heritage Edition which was installed recently at the Stuttgart campus. “It produces a clear and rich sound and it is really easy to set up.”
SAE Institute students here tend to use the desk mainly for recording, which offers a broad array of options thanks to its advanced features, as well as the DLC, according to Dom. The DLC, or Dual Layer Control, sits at the heart of the desk, giving a range of DAW control features, including eight bankable faders, transport control, track record enable and plug-in selection/editing, all of which facilitate the session’s navigation.
The ASP8024-HE arrived at the same time as four iD14 USB audio interfaces, which – rather conveniently – come with the same mic preamplifiers as those found in the console, as well as Burr-Brown AD/DA converters, ADAT input for expandability and Audient’s ‘iD’ ScrollControl Mode. “We’d been without interfaces for three years,” says Dom, admitting that since their arrival, “not a single day goes by without at least one of them getting used.”
Founded in 1976 the SAE Institute prides itself in being the world’s largest, industry-focussed creative media educator with a network across five continents, offering a comprehensive course portfolio in creative media fields. With Stuttgart just the latest in a long line of SAE Institutes with Audient products, they sound to have made an excellent investment.
