Bandit Lites Backs Pat Summitt ‘Salute for the Cure’ Fundraiser
USA – Local businesses and community leaders gathered for the Pat Summitt Foundation’s annual “Salute for the Cure,” named for the iconic basketball coach and fearless leader. Bandit Lites donated the lighting package for the event which raises money for Alzheimer’s research and support for the Pat Summitt Clinic at UT Medical Center. This year’s dinner also featured a knock-out performance from NBC’s “The Voice” winner and East Tennessee native Chris Blue.
Lighting director Alex Becker utilised GLP X4 Atoms to illuminate the stage, with 18 of them arranged for a general stage wash on pipes clamped to building beams downstage along with two four-foot pipes mounted with Atoms. Gantom Darklights provided a backwash on the upstage wall where Chauvet Freedom Par Quad 4 lights were also placed. Martin MAC 101 fixtures supplied movement around the stage.
In addition to the stage lighting, Bandit Lites also provided ambiance for the space with sophisticated scene lighting. Nearly 100 Chauvet Freedom Par Quad 4 fixtures illuminated the room and VIP area, highlighting the brick walls and columns while four dozen Chauvet EZ Washes on custom steel plates lit the tent in the courtyard.
“The Pat Summitt Foundation is one that is dear to us at Bandit, both because owner Michael Strickland enjoyed a friendship with Pat and because of the work the foundation does to end Alzheimer’s,” said Bandit’s director of philanthropy Allison Burchett. “With events like the ‘Salute for a Cure,’ The Pat Summitt Foundation is furthering the legacy of Pat, which is one of excellence and hard work, a message everyone can benefit from and one that Bandit Lites is exceedingly proud to help champion.”
