d&b audiotechnik focuses on integration and Soundscape at PLASA Focus Leeds
UK – d&b audiotechnik showcased its latest innovations at this year’s PLASA Focus Leeds exhibition from 1st to 2nd May. With a focus on recent advances in integration and interoperability, the d&b team was on hand to discuss new audio technology solutions, third-party control integrations and the d&b Soundscape.
“PLASA Focus is always a great opportunity to see our customers in the north of the country, discuss our latest developments and how they relate to their own projects,” says Gianni Abruzzese, d&b GB general manager. “And with our latest third-party integrations and, of course, Soundscape, we have some really compelling new technology to talk about with them.”
On day one of the show Oran Burns, d&b education application support, presented a seminar called 'Are you listening?', which was well received. The session focused on the much-debated subject of the ideal frequency response for a live sound system, considering factors like hearing sensitivity, creative preferences, room acoustics and cultural trends.
As ever, d&b also took an active role in popular PLASA Focus education and training programme. Steve Jones, d&b education application support, joined the panel of experts discussing perhaps the hottest talking point in live sound – object-based spatial audio. Jones shared insights into the d&b Soundscape and its relevance to future live sound reinforcement environments. Titled ‘Spatial Brew’, the seminar session took place in the Bury Theatre on Tuesday 1st May, chaired by leading pro audio journalist, Phil Ward.
