Experience virtual worlds – The Immersive Showroom at Stage|Set|Scenery

Germany – New worlds, innovative technologies and artificial intelligence for theatres, museums and events, the digital age is opening up completely new possibilities for conveying traditional content and messages regardless of time and space.

In Hall 20 at this year’s Stage|Set|Scenery the Immersive Showroom – 'Where Technology meets Experience' – is for the first time featuring its own exhibition and display area which as part of a three-day interdisciplinary dialogue will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest experience technologies.

On days one and two of the show the focus of the programme of papers will be on the use of new technologies in the theatre. Examples will be given of virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) being used at the Große Schauspielhaus and Komische Oper. Technische Universität Berlin, Fraunhofer Institut and CyberRäuber will provide support.

On day three the focus will be on the possibilities and challenges of innovative experience technology in museums and exhibitions. How can VR and AR successfully deliver content? What new technologies can museums employ to make content and exhibits more accessible to visitors? How can AI help museums to target audiences even better with their presentations? International experts will give fascinating impulse lectures offering insights into a wide range of different technologies that are already successfully helping to make a day at the museum a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
