dBTechnologies VIO System New at Active Blue in Bremen
Germany – Active Blue, a German-based service provider for lighting, sound and event technology, recently acquired several components of the VIO system, dBTechnologies' most powerful PA system. Buying the system, the Bremen-based company is using equipment from the Italian PA manufacturer dBTechnologies for the first time. The purchase included 20 VIO L212, 20 S218 SUB and 20 L208 modules. With the investment by Active Blue and the associated important and strong basis, the presence of the VIO system in Germany becomes even stronger.
Active Blue is 30 years old and since its establishment became a provider for events in varying categories and is active Europe-wide. The company is increasingly active with corporate events and conferences, concerts, parties or cultural events. The aim of purchasing VIO components was to expand the stock of large PA systems and to respond even more flexibly to customer wishes. All equipment has to meet the highest standards. This demand is part of the company philosophy and had to be taken into account at the time of purchase. After extensive market research, they decided to take a closer look at the VIO system at the dBTechnologies stand during Prolight + Sound trade show.
"The discussions with the dBTechnologies team and the information we could gather at the show were compelling," says Andreas Beer, managing director of Active Blue. "dBTechnologies has done a tremendous job here and offers a wide range of features that are not available from competitors. The rigging and handling of the system are very simple, the networking of all modules with each other is smooth, the automatic recognition of the elements present in the system and of course the integrated RDNet are further, very useful features."
After the audio specialists from Active Blue could also convince themselves of the VIO system's sound quality and features during a training session, the team purchased the system. Immediately afterwards, the new components were already used for several events, including the 850th anniversary city festival of Melle, the "Sunrise Reggae & Ska Festival" and further open-air events in Berlin.
According to Beer, the response to the new system was extremely positive. The mixers of the bands and the technicians on site were enthusiastic about the sound, the easy handling and the user-friendliness.
The VIO L212 is dBTechnologies' full-size line array for large sound reinforcement applications. VIO L212 is a fully active three-way system that offers enormous performance with 142dB maximum SPL but is one of the lightest line arrays in its class. The components of the VIO L212, L210 and L208, and the S218 and S318 are perfectly tuned to each other in terms of sound, design and optics.
Thanks to the RDNet connection integrated with the speakers and applying the Aurora Net control software, the VIO system is extremely easy and precise to set up in live situations. Groupings, room-related EQs, delays etc. are easy to edit. Thanks to the FIR filtering of all VIO systems, the best possible acoustic combination is guaranteed.
As a Bremen-based company, Active Blue is already looking forward to Bremen's Freimarkt, the largest funfair in the north of Germany. From 18 October to 4 November, the new VIO system will be used there for two weeks in the music hall.
