Elation KL Panel highlights elegance of classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles

Germany – The Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Fellbach, Germany, is the official Mercedes-Benz showcase for classic cars and is a must-visit for any car enthusiast. It offers original parts, repairs, restoration and information for historical Mercedes-Benz vehicles that have been out of production for at least 15 years. Mad Music Event Technology GmbH of Stuttgart was called on to upgrade a portion of the vehicle lighting at the Classic Center and chose a large number of full-colour Elation Professional KL Panel LED softlights for the job.

Using a highly efficient 295W RGBW + lime + cyan LED array, the KL Panel creates wonderfully soft white or full-colour washes of up to 24,000 lumens at a 100° half-beam angle. According to Mad Music CEO Mathias Bremgärtner, the decision to go with the KL Panel was because of the "very good options for colour temperature adjustment, the very good CRI value, the excellent homogeneous coverage and the exact colour rendering of the vehicle paint."

The KL Panel, with its flexibly adjustable colour temperature from 2,000 to 10,000K, meets the high performance and colour quality requirements of film and television but is just at home in studio and streaming applications or, as in this case, for the true-to-colour lighting of exhibits in museums and showrooms. Virtually silent in operation, adjustable and removable eight-leaf barndoors are included for more precise illumination and less light spill.

The colour rendering of the KL Panel softlight is of the highest quality with a CRI above 95. Additional colour tuning is possible through a green shift adjustment and a virtual gel library. The KL Panel is energy efficient, consuming only 295W of max power, and offers other benefits of LED like greater reliability, a long LED life rating and little maintenance for a lower cost of ownership.
