Audient Announces Its Product Line Up at AES San Francisco

This expandable DSP-based system comprises a two channel master and two or four channel slaves, controllable within one network. Features include a graphic and parametric equaliser, hi and lo-pass filters, shelving EQ with compressor, limiter and dynamic equaliser, digital delay and optional RTA.
Sales and marketing director Luke Baldry says: “There is now a real desire for digital processing in the live sound and installation markets. The digital technology has matured to the point that high quality audio is now possible and users can see the advantages of having multiple channels working within one ‘easy to control’ system.” He continues, “The key is to offer operational and sonic advantages over the traditional analogue processors, which is what we have addressed with Neo.”
Audient will also show the first production units of the SUMO High Resolution Balanced Summing Amplifier, which was previewed at the Pro Light & Sound exhibition in Frankfurt earlier this year.
SUMO has 8 fully balanced stereo inputs with >24dB headroom, mono function for channels 1-2 and 3-4, variable gain fully differential mix amp with >27dB headroom, fully balanced analogue stereo outputs plus optional AES/SPDIF digital outputs at 44.1 to 129dHz, classic stereo bus compressor and peak limiter, fully balanced insert points on stereo output, switchable pre or post the dynamics section, high resolution metering and expander input for up to 4 additional units.
Audient’s 8 Channel Variable Impedance Mic Pre ASP008 and the ASP231 Graphic Equaliser will also be under the spotlight, as well as Audient’s high resolution mixing console ASP8024. John Songdahl, Pro Audio Design’s Group VP explains: “The ASP8024 will be set up to a ProTools system and will be running through a Genelec Monitor system. The other units will be in a listening rack with CD source material and headphone monitoring, so everything will be “live” and ready to be demonstrated."
About AXI, Chris Walsh, director of sales and marketing says: “The company was formed to bring pro audio products to an exclusive group of dealers so that they can gain access to many top-shelf systems not currently available to them.”
