grandMA Version 5.4 Now Available for Download
grandMA now features a full Blind Editor which works in parallel to the live programmer. When leaving blind mode the original values of the programmer are restored automatically. Also the last selection used in the blind programmer is restored on the time of re-entering. Each user in a multi-user network session has his own fully independent blind editor.
Similar to the console, the grandMA 3D visualizer may also be used to preview and edit cues in blind mode. Cues may so be easily changed on the console and previewed on grandMA in parallel without affecting the live output on stage. Many elements on a show like Executor, Sequences, Cues, Macros, Presets, etc. may now be locked by any user with administrative rights to prevent unwanted modification or deletion. These elements stay locked for any other user until unlocked by an administrator again.
The usage and content of any channel, fixture, cue, preset or other element or range of elements can now be analysed with the new Report Function. The results as shown on screen can be printed or exported to a file (in CSV format) for external editing. Profiles can be assigned for dimmer and movement-transitions for each cue in a sequenz. There are 16 predefined transition profiles, and 16 user definable ones, that can be initialized with normal dimmer profiles.
With the new Fixture Compact Sheet, for the first time the gap between channel and fixture sheet is closed. On this sheet a selectable number of features are displayed for all fixtures, following the same sorting and display options than a channel sheet. So a colour changer can be view with the parameters Dimmer, Colour and Speed only if desired. This allows a more compact view to fixtures than before.
Each fixture using Pan and Tilt parameters can now be additionally equipped with real XYZ parameters. These parameters control and store real values for any position of the beam with X,Y and Z coordinates, totally independent from the previous pan/tilt movement. Any fixture can now be moved in a linear way between two points in a room. Together with the stage view window the new XYZ parameters for fixtures can be used in a follow mode to graphically control the movement like a real followspot. These function was previously available on grandMA 3D only but now works on any console of the grandMA range (including onPC) even in standalone mode.
The actual position an rotation of a fixture in the stage room can be adjusted by a versatile teach-in facility which simply calculates the wanted coordinates from moving a fixture’s beam to four known points on stage.
