Holophone and DPA Microphones A/S Form Strategic Alliance
Holophone, a division of Rising Sun Productions, Ltd., and DPA Microphones A/S of Denmark have jointly announced the formation of a strategic alliance by which DPA will become the exclusive provider of microphone elements for the recently introduced Holophone H2-PRO surround sound microphone and any similar products. This alliance follows closely the successful US launch of the Holophone H2-PRO at the recent NAB Conference in Las Vegas and its European launch at the116th AES Convention in Berlin where Holophone and DPA showcased the new H2-PRO on the DPA stand.
“We are very pleased to reach this agreement with our friends at DPA Microphones,” stated Michael Godfrey, president and inventor of the Holophone. “We tested a number of different omni microphones before selecting DPAs for our first professional product. This agreement ensures that DPA 4060s will be the factory-installed option for our new H2-PRO surround sound microphone.” He continues: “In addition to making very nice products, DPA has a great group of people that are fun to work with. We’re honored to be partners with DPA Microphones.”
Morten Stove, founder and CEO of DPA Microphones A/S states: “By becoming the exclusive provider of microphones to Holophone for the H2-PRO product, we extend our reach directly into a product designed specifically for the recording of surround sound. We anticipate a successful partnership for not only the H2-PRO product but for other solutions in the future.”
The Holophone H2-PRO surround sound microphone is a revolutionary and patented new microphone, capable of recording up to 7.1 channels of discreet surround sound for all professional audio applications - standard television, DTV, HDTV, radio, music, project studios/engineers, and film location recording – and is the only stand-alone surround sound capture device of its kind on the market.
