New Martin ShowDesigner (MSD) Update Available
Helpful changes have been made to Martin Professional’s ShowDesigner (MSD) lighting design simulation software package. New version 4.6.6.0 contains a new set of keyboard shortcuts and additional mouse functions that accelerate and facilitate the virtual lighting design process. Additionally, a number of Bugfixes have been implemented.
MSD is a unique software tool that allows LDs to develop lighting designs in vivid 3-D computer graphics for advanced lighting simulation. The entire lighting design can be developed away from site – anywhere you can operate a computer – and then downloaded onto a lighting control system. The latest updates, which can be downloaded from the Lighthouse website at http://www.lighthouse.nl/, include:
ShowDesigner, Modeller, Visualizer - 4.6.6.0 Mouse Wheel Zoom in/out function, mouse Full-view function, mouse Pan-view function, new mouse selections tools, new shortcuts for most commonly used operations, added/Split camera move/swivel/pan operation, and new ‘Full View for all windows’ button.
ShowDesigner, Modeller - 4.6.6.0 New box/line selection modes, added camera Undo/Redo support, changed toolbars’ style for better active operation feedback, picked object also part of the group (not just the selected objects), aligns the Bounding-box of a group to the orientation of the picked-up object (if any) when constructing a group, added Undo/Redo buttons to the toolbar, and a number of Bugfixes have been implemented.
ShowDesigner - 4.6.6.0, Added ‘Select All’ functionality (as in Modeller), added a Fast-Patch operation, ‘Arrow markers’ replaced by an ‘AC-outlet’ indicator to indicate the orientation of a fixture (needs latest fixture library update).
Modeller - 4.6.6.0, Modeller displays name of library in caption text.
Visualizer - 4.6.6.0, Re-introduced the Focus operation as a Fan mode, Added Fixture ID as a parameter to Fast-Patch, and a number of Bugfixes have been implemented.
New Fixture Library, New MSD Fixture Library with no fewer than 135 new fixture profiles and 90 updated profiles. The new Fixture Library can be downloaded from the Lighthouse website: http://www.lighthouse.nl/download/fixtures/d_fixtures.htm
